St. John is a registered 501(c)(3) corporation. Therefore, as a charitable, nonprofit institution, its facilities and equipment may only be used for the furtherance of its exempt purpose and in accordance with its Confessional Standards. Events or use meeting those standards include:
• St. John Liturgies
• Other Liturgical services or rites as approved by the Senior Pastor, i.e. Renewal of marriage vows, baptismal renewal services, ordinations, etc.
• Weddings of St. John members or friends who are under a St. John Pastor’s care
• Funerals of St. John members, or those approved and lead by a St. John Pastor
• Baptisms for those under the care of St. John Pastors
• Bible studies that are taught and sponsored by St. John
• Auxiliary groups part of the St. John Parish such as Preschool events, Afternoon Circle, LWML, St. John youth groups and activities, St. John Confirmation, St. John Catechumenate classes of all ages, St. John family sport and fellowship events, etc.
• Other special gatherings, musical events, or services that meet St John’s exempt purpose as approved by the Parish Administrator and/or Senior Pastor
• Events or gatherings by outside groups that agree with our Confessional Standards and are approved by the Parish Administrator and Senior Pastor
Events that generally do not meet our exempt purpose are:
• Family gatherings or birthday parties
• Baby or bridal showers
• Family reunions
• Any event or use of facilities by a for- profit entity
• Any use of the facilities for sales or income producing activities other than a St John parish event
• Bazaars, craft fairs, or other types of retail operations that do not have a direct connection to St. John’s exempt purpose.
• Use of St. John equipment outside of our facilities for personal or family gatherings or use.
